The major difference between decomposition here and in Scope Definition is that the final outputs are describes as activities.

6.1.3.1 Activity list

must include all activities which must be performed on a project
should be organized as an extension to WBS
should include descriptions of work required

6.1.3.2 Supporting detail

must support the activity list and be properly documented and organized
should include all identified assumptions and constraints

6.1.3.3 Work breakdown structure updates

In using the WBS to identify which activities are needed, the project team may require refinements to update the WBS for:

missing deliverables
incorrect descriptions

These are most likely when the project involves new and unproven technology.
